A new academic study provides the first rigorous evidence that AI-generated advertising performs comparably to human-created content. The implications for the industry are significant—but so is the infrastructure gap the findings reveal.

The research, from scholars at NYU Stern School of Business and Emory University, offers something the AI advertising debate has largely lacked: controlled empirical evidence about actual performance, not just speculation about possibilities.

The governance side remains under-built. Provenance tracking, compliance documentation, organizational learning at scale—these require infrastructure that most organizations don't have.
